My SDL hell trip

What warning message are you getting? sometimes it can be because you have files that have no reference, files that would be in red colour on the left in your list just delete them and build.

Jeffrey wrote:> Hi,

I had installed SDL (latest version) on Mac OS X Lion. It had all kind of problems. I couldn’t make it run without finding a new error whenever i fixed the previous one (even with a simple Hello World), mostly related to the main function. I followed thousands of guides to fix these problems, then I just gave up.
Recently I had to down grade to Snow Leopard and I decided to give SDL a new try. I downloaded XCode 3.2.6 (the latest for Snow Leopard I guess) and followed this guide trough the setup: http://www.noquarterarcade.com/xcode-sdl-development-setup (I think it was linked under the Tutorial tab of the SDL main site).
I just opened a new project and runned the default code (Hello world) there and it gave me an error regarding the missing of sdk macosx10.4. I remembered that when I installed XCode it asked me whatever to install that sdk; so that was probably my fault. I deleted XCode, restarted and installed XCode again. Now starting a new project and running the default code it gives me:

  • Command /Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 failed with exit code 1

and a warning.
I know I’m pretty unlucky with new things generally speaking. Where am I wrong this time? I’m really getting frustrated by not being able to make SDL working.
Could you please help me?

Thanks.

No worries. I’d start here:
