New CVS repository

Loki is hosting the new SDL cvs repository:
The examples will be broken out into individual archives and made
available on the SDL web site at a later time.

– Information on using CVS is available at
http://www.loria.fr/~molli/cvs-index.html

Information on downloading our CVS modules:

Set the CVSROOT environment variable to
:pserver:guest at cvs.lokigames.com:/cvs, and then login using the password
"guest"

Example:
export CVSROOT=:pserver:guest at cvs.lokigames.com:/cvs
cvs login
(type “guest” as the password)
cvs checkout MODULE

You can checkout the following modules:

SDL The latest and greatest version of SDL
mixer An enhanced version of the sample SDL audio library
setup The Loki open-source installer
smjpeg The Motion JPEG library used in Railroad Tycoon II
smpeg Loki’s open-source MPEG-1 playback library

Warning: These are the latest versions of software and are continually
under development. They may be broken at any time. For stable
software, you should go to the web pages of the respective packages.–

Could I give you a few requests/hints?

Firstly, could you keep the list of modules in CVSROOT/modules up to
date, so that a “cvs checkout -c” will give us some information about
what is in there?

Secondly, it would be very nice if all of the modules were under a
directory, say “loki”. I guess I am not the only one having checked out
stuff from many repositories, and it helps a lot when all of the content
is in a single repository, so you can update everything in a single “cvs
update”. You could maintain the older way with aliases in the
CVSROOT/modules file.

Thanks again!–
