No visible output on Linux with SDL 1.1.6

Hi there,

I?ve just downloaded the SDL 1.1.6 source. It comipled accurate on a
SuSE Linux 6.4 System (gcc version 2.95.2 19991024, xf86-3.3.6-47,
Matrox Mystique 220 graphic card). But when I run a SDL program from the
test folder, theres no visible output, no window is opened. However some
of the programms send some messages to standardout, but no error
messages. Any ideas?
