Non-surface RGB, YUV software conversions?

Does SDL provide an API to use it’s software RGB and YUV conversions
outside of surface/overlay conversions (i.e. for simple data buffer
conversion)?

If not, does anyone know what the state of YUV support is in the Hermes
library is? The change long indicates that the 1.3 development branch
should have YUV support, but the latest 1.3.2 version available at
http://clanlib.org/hermes/ does not have it…

Not at the moment, but you are free to pull the routines for your own
projects as long as you comply with the LGPL license and include the
appropriate messages in your source code.
