All,
I have recently been building some simple test apps. under OSX using SDL (specifically using openGL linker options) I have two macmini’s to test with:
mac-mini 1 is an intel dual-core
mac-mini 2 is a G4
I have built both apps no probs under both machines but I can’t help wondering if I may run into porting problems at some point - are there any significant differences in the way SDL uses CoreAudio on these platforms? basically are there any Dragons waiting to bite my ass?
BTW - OSX is a dream to work on - I simply love the framework concept , linux should adopt it.

Why are you singling out Core Audio in this question? Why not anything
and everything else in the OS X implementation? Do you see something
in the Core Audio backend that looks suspicious/problematic?

Hmmm, well spotted. Yes and no, I noticed that the G4 implementation
occasinally produces crackles and pops in the output sound. Looked into
it a bit more and noticed it get’s much worse when I fire up something
else that uses CoreAudio (like a dvd player)

I think this crackling is a generic SDL sound problem. It seems to
happen on windows, and linux too.On 8/22/07, chris.2.dobbs at bt.com <chris.2.dobbs at bt.com> wrote:
