Perl and SDL

Hi,

Hum Really strange but since I’ve installed my Mandrake 7.2 I can’t
compile SDLPerl module since the Makefile.PL always tells me that I
don’t have the perl.h file !

It’s weird because Perl is well installed…

Hum well I guess you want to know my perl version, it’s the 5.600

Then the Makefile.PL just says that it can’t find the
/usr/lib/(…)/CORE/perl.h

That’s all !

And it’s true it doesn’t exist at all on my system !

hmmm, no, actually more than the version, pleasse could you send the output
of :
perl -V

captial V,

but other than that, it sounds suspiciously like you have a broken
installation if you cant ‘find’ the header file.
could you run an RPM verify on the Perl package? (Mandrake is based on
redhat so you should be able to)

Hi Lawouach,

The problem comes from two things:

1.) Mandrake 7.2 didn't install the header files... doh!
2.) I only test it on Debian right now. :)

Missing perl.h is fatal, I believe Mandrake provides
separate from the binaries in the rpm:

	perl-devel-5.600-17mdk.i586.rpm

That should solve your problem. If you don't have it on your cd:

ftp://download.sourceforge.net/pub/mirrors/mandrake/7.2/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/

or any other mirror should have it there abouts :)On Thu, Dec 21, 2000 at 03:19:18AM -0800, Sylvain Hellegouarch wrote:
