SDL 1.1.8 + X 4.0.2 + G450 +gtv = crash

Before I start stepping through source, I was wondering if anyone else
has run into this problem (searcing the mailling list archive didn’t
reveal anything related):

SDL 1.1.7 and 1.1.8, X 4.0.2, G450 (using either 1.00.004 or 1.01.05
drivers), and apps like gtv that use the MPEG abilities in SDL crash:

Fatal error. Ring buffer full.: Success
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x2cd)!

This happens the instant I press “play”.

If nobody else has seen this, guess I’ll start stepping through code to
try and figure out what’s up.–

Hah… never mind… the “SDL Parachute Deployed” threw me off…

upgrading my smpeg library to 0.4.2 solved my problem.

Oh, well, I guess this is just going to be one of those lifetimes.
