SDL 1.3 stuff / docs / apis / examples

i svn’d latest sdl1.3 then thought to mself what the heck am i doing… non
of my code is going to work properly cos lots of common functions have
changed structure, so, i figure to try and contribute to the project other
than with rambling emails i would attempt to do some form of example code /
rough documentation, only i have little or no clue where to start with what
i need to know might have changed so i figure i should attemmpt to write an
entire little demo program from scratch, this, then, i can use as a base for
converting / reworking my own stuff only i have not much of a deaf bats clue
where to start, off the top of my head all i can remeber is that the mouse
functions have changed du to the additon of multi mouse, if anyone can throw
a bone as to what else i really need to know before i drive myself insane
please do. also, i am a little concerned i might not even have a working SDL
from subversion ( for linux ) so any thing anyone can input please do.

OK… i have compiled SDL1.3 with no problems, just traying ym little demo
program nodchod, come to the mouse issue so going through SDL_mouse.h
figuring out what i need to do to make things work, if you google ‘SDL 1.3
docs’ you come to a SDL 1.3 wiki which appears not to have been updtaed for
two months, so er… if i am going to write tips / help on converting to SDL
1.3 where can i put them? the offical SDL wiki? i am useless at updating
wikis, anyways. blah.

OK… so altering / understanding the mouse code was not too much grief for
me, i was hoping something else wouldnt work, but it all worked once i had
changed the mouse, might plug another mouse in so i can write about using
two or more mice, but what i would like to understand and help others
understand is the new windowing stuff and textures, so any input welcome,
but i’m quite happy sat here rambling to myself.

Oh and just for your amusement, last night at about 2am a flat aboves water
something ‘exploded’ so from 2 am to 5 am i was joyfully trying to get
bulding mantainace to sort it out and now i’ve had to sit here waiting for
someone from maintainace to show up with a water sucking device to try and
prevent the carpet from being ruined! joy of living in flats! hooray!

oh and any future employer doing the thing of searching for me on google to
find out if i am nuts or not and if you want to employ me, well, you found
me on google well done, i dont want your job, you wont be paying me enough,
and i am nuts. ktb.

If you send me whatever docs you put together, I’ll collect them for the
