SDL: Carbon & DrawSprockets

Hi!

This question is kinda for Sam, but I’ll take any input from some OSX
gurus…

I was skimming over the SDL source code after installing it for OSX and it
seems to me that Apple’s DrawSprockets are being used for OSX
the install. Is this correct? I was under the impression that
DrawSprocket support for OSX was pretty bad. Is Carbon used at all for
window management?

I don’t have much experience programming under the Mac (despite using one
all the time), but I’d appreciate any feedback on this.

Thanks!
Dave J.

Yes and no. If you build version 1.2.2 from the command line (using
make) it will indeed use Carbon. BUt I do not think that is ever uses
DrawSprockets on OS X (so I might be wrong).

If you OTOH use the ProjectBUilder file to create a framework, it
will be using Cocoa.

Finally, in current SDL cvs there are various changes by me that
allow you to build cocoa apps using traditional Makefiles, which is
probably best as for portability. Together with some other changes
Darrell Walliser and me made, SDL 1.2.3 will be much better for OS X
users

This list is most definately not dead. You may have somehow been
unsubscribed. I would go subscribe again. On Saturday, November 17, 2001, at 08:42 AM, Anders Folkesson wrote:

I am terriblly sorry for sending this somewhat off-topic mail to the list but
there seems to be some problem. I subscribed to the list again but it said i
was already subscriebed. I still dont get the messages though.
Anyone have any ideas about what might be wrong?
