SDL community?

Hi all.
Please forgive me if this has come up many times before - you see, I’m
an SDL noob (completely!).

Does SDL have a good community site (like allegro’s www.allegro.cc )? If
so, where is it? If not, then I assume some attempts at this have been
made – some of them abandoned, put on hold indefinitely, currently in
progress, etc. So what seem to be the factors holding back such an
effort? Lack of interest? Lack of funding?

Perhaps someone can fill me in on the current situation/previous efforts.

My apologies if this topic has been done to death.

PS. Maybe I can work on this myself.

I always found this mailing list pretty good.
