SDL Q/A volunteers?

Adam M. pointed out rightly in bug 2543 that the SDL bug database can use
more attention.

I assumed that everyone was in the same boat as Ryan and I in that we have
lots going on, but maybe people do have time, and I just haven’t asked.

So, does anybody have time and interest in helping stay on top of the SDL
bugs? This would involve communicating with people who report bugs,
verifying bug reports and fixes, knowing when fixes are safe to commit, and
poking Ryan and I when something needs attention.

There are currently 321 open SDL 2.0 bugs and we’ve fixed over 900 SDL 2.0
bugs over the last few years.

While I’m here, I want to give big thanks to Gabriel Jacobo and Philipp
Wiesemann, who have been doing great work and are now full contributors to
SDL.

Cheers!

Since you haven’t received any public responses to this, I want to express
some interest. I’ve been hesitant because of limited available time - but
I want to help SDL move forward, and I’m quite surprised that no one has
expressed any interest already. However - I would like to know more about
what level of commitment you’re looking for.

Could you supply some more details to what you would expect from this?On Sun, Jun 22, 2014 at 8:43 PM, Sam Lantinga wrote:

Any level of commitment is fine. Just poke through the bug list, see if
there are any bugs you feel comfortable checking and verify the fix, if
any, and poke me and Ryan if it looks ready to go or is currently a
showstopper for someone.

Thanks!On Tue, Jun 24, 2014 at 11:57 AM, Trygve Vea <trygve.vea at gmail.com> wrote:

What?s the best way to poke you two? There are a couple nasty regressions from recent commits that have bug reports and probably need attention…On Jun 22, 2014, at 3:43 PM, Sam Lantinga wrote:

Tomorrow I’ll peek through some bugs. Is there a doc available on Q/A
standards that bug fixes should follow, or is the code guidelines basically
that? I’ll take ticket numbers if people have things that are high
priority; also note I’m on Linux, so I won’t be able able to check any Mac
specific bugs, but I do have Windows 7 available. On 25 Jun 2014 04:03, “Sam Lantinga” wrote:

e-mail is the best way. I plan to look at those patches tomorrow, FYI.On Sat, Jul 5, 2014 at 6:56 PM, Alex Szpakowski wrote:
