Are there any reasonably mature SNES emulators using SDL? I don’t believe
SNES9X does. Suggestions are welcome. (I’m hoping to port one to the Opie
environment on the iPaq, and SDL would be ideal, since we already have Doom,
ScummVM, and others running with it.)

It does, but I suspect it would be fantastically difficult to port to
anything other than linux/x86. Despite having nice SDL functionality
on OS X, zsnes barfs badly at compile-time.
My daydream is to port SNES9x to SDL - it’s already ported to generic
Unix, Windows, and Macintosh, so hooking up SDL should be a matter of
just implementing the wrapper functions.On Sun, Sep 01, 2002 at 11:28:43PM -0700, Chris Thielen wrote:

I suspect it would be quite straightforward. I’ve been discussing a Qtopia
port with the fellow who did the original ARM port, and it sounds like
SNES9X’s preferred way to interact with graphics is to write directly to a
framebuffer. screen->pixels, anyone?

could you check if SDL port of Atari800 works on iPaq ? I know there
were problems on Sharp PDA On Sun, Sep 01, 2002 at 10:39:12PM -0700, Cliff L. Biffle wrote:

zsnes does use sdl, seeing as I ported it to linux with theoddone33.
If you arnt on x86, use snes9x. Its the 2nd best snes emulator out there.On 01-Sep-2002, Cliff L. Biffle wrote:

I there in the net when you can find an updated version of the emulators for SNES. The new versions of RetroArch or Snes9x. I want the new version for playing SNES ROms.
