SDL2, 3D graphics

There are a lot of news about SDL2 release, in each is written about “3D graphic support”, but nowhere is said howw to use it (in oficial wiki too). Does anybody know about this? Does it work without connecting SDL2 and GL/GLU manually?

P.S. Also, please tell me if there are any linguistic problems in my message.

i think “3D graphic support” means that you can use opengl api to render 3d stuff

afaik there is no sdl api designed for 3d rendering .

Okay, I’ll try to find something that can connect SDL and OGL…

I think that most of 3d games are just 2d images that look like 3d but I don’t know how to do it.

Has anyone looked into Vulkan yet?

I have already started to learn SDL. LazyFoo’s tutorial is very good. But today, I faced to 3D sphere drawing problem. Maybe only DirectX can draw 3D sphere natively. I used OpenGL before but still there I needed a library.

SDL will only give you 2D drawing. You can get access to GL functions from SDL. Or look at this new Vulkan thing.

If you want a 3D library, look at Unity or Unreal engines.

@AntTheAlchemist what about “SFML”?

I just picked the two main ones from the top of my head - personally I hate Unity. Yes, SFML looks good, are you using it? Is it as easy to use as SDL?
