Sharing textures with SDL 1.3

Any plans for a some way of getting texture names/pointers/whatever,
or have a renderer just select a texture for subsequent rendering?

I figured it would be nice to cooperate with SDL as far as possible,
but I can’t seem to find a way to get at the information needed to
use the textures with “native” OpenGL or Direct3D.
