Yo.
Anyone have any experience of developing/publishing SDL games for the
Linspire OS? Any links / hints / gotchas to share? Is hardware
acceleration readily available (as in CNR-available, tested and all)
for more than GeForce2?
(FYI: Linspire supports Click-and-run installation of software, and
for developers there is “publishing” aswell as “selling” your software
via this CNR thingie; see linspire.com)
/Olof
there is no ‘Linspire OS’ … there is the Linux distribution called Linspire
though
if you choose to use Linspire’s CNR stuff for publishing you have to realize
that CNR really only works for Linspire users … and the size of the
userbase of Linspire sucks
in terms of ‘hardware acceleration readily availabe’, Linspire works just as
well as any other Linux distribution out there … that means that generally
nvidia/ati cards are supported pretty decently and you shouldnt have to worry
about that
older cards work as well as the X/DRI/etc… drivers (in other words, ymmv)
i’d check out garagegames.com if i were you … they have many cross-platform
SDL games and they exist for the purpose of indy developers to publish their
games easily

Yes I’ve tried to find some number at their site, but since I couldn’t
easily do so I figured it’s too low for them to publish, hehe.
