Tux Paint 0.9.3 released! Now translated to Chinese

Tux Paint is a simple drawing program for young kids, released
as Open Source software under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
It runs on Linux and other Unixes, Windows, and Mac OS X.

The source download for version 0.9.3 has just been released!!!
It includes:

  • Chinese support,

  • Updated Spanish translations (mostly in the documentation department),

  • and full-screen and Windows-printing fixes (thanks, John Popplewell!)

And remember, if you want to test out the Chinese support (zh_CN.UTF-8),

Hehe - It’s not like I translated it.

But, I’m happy to say that turning on the translation was simply
a matter of dropping in the translated .PO file I was sent,
throwing the right TTF font in the right place, and letting Tux Paint
know that the Chinese locale needs its own font.

And voila! :^)

Hehe… That’s the plan… for translations at least.

BTW, if anyone’s interested in the code that I wrote to handle the UTF-8
encoded strings, feel free to check out the Tux Paint source.
(Sorry it’s all in one big C file… a bad habit of mine :^) )
