Upgrading to SDL 1.3 on Linux

Hi,
I noticed on the roadmap that it’s still on the todo list to install SDL 1.3
but still have SDL 1.2 working properly - will this affect programs that are
already using SDL 1.2?
I want to upgrade, but I don’t want to cause any issues from programs I have
installed that depend on SDL 1.2

Tips/advice?
At the very least, I may just stick to SDL 1.2 until 1.3 is finished and
officially released.

Thanks,
-Alex

Are you installing from source, deb/rpm, or by hand? The SDL 1.3 libs and
headers will interfere with SDL 1.2 programs, so you’ll want to install them
to a unique location.
