Has anyone ever created an “SDL Powered”, or “Built with SDL” style
logo to put into splash/credit screens? if there was a neat looking
logo or icon i could drop in the corner of my startup screens, i’d
proudly put it in there somewhere.
if not, maybe there could be an unofficial little contest for
something like that? maybe i’m alone on this one and will just
try something from my own hand (heaven, help us!)
i’m thinking the SDL image with the ripple-y water would be a
little off target scaled down to the size i was imagining.
I’ll try to create such a logo. This may take some time.

I think we should have another logo contest. Grin I could make up
for missing the last one

I was certain I’d seen one, so I poked around the libsdl.org page looking for it, but I came up
empty-handed.
Until, of course, I noticed that there was a .gif in
the upper-left hand corner of every page. I hate it
when I overlook the obvious
I’d be all for a contest, but I can’t host- I don’t have much space.
Have a nice day!

Here is my first try on this logo. What do you think of it?

I haven’t heard anything more about the logo contest, so I threw my
ideas onto my own page at www.fuelgames.com/SDL. They’re still only
concepts, so I’d appreciate hearing anyone’s thoughts. And please
forgive my inability to narrow down the entries to less than 5.

Four is the best. A logo needs to have sharp edges, little or no
dithering/blending, and, if possible, be well represented in two color
print (black/white and color/white).

cool, these are my favorites so far. at first #1 & #5 jumped out
at me. but #4 took special notice before not too long. forgiven!
I totally agree, although I can’t remember what the design reminds me
off - I think some game company uses it for their logo too - well,
nevertheless it looks great

I think the logotype should be in EPS or some other vector format.
That whould make it easier to choose whatever size you want it in without
loosing any quality.

They all look very cool (the second and fourth are my favourites).
But wouldn’t it be even neater with an animated logo? Either a small
animation to be combined with a larger title screen, or the big all-out
splash screen with sound, particle systems, and THX (in selected theatres).
I’m with you on that. Kind of similar to the old SSI logo, but a nicer
font. The more I see it, the more I like it. The others are very nice,
just a bit too fussy for a logo.

I’d prefer something like a button, with more than just the “SDL” on it. We
already have a logo for SDL itself, so this should be something different, and
not just a second logo. I thought of a text like “using SDL” or “SDL powered” or
"SDL-GAME".
